The Alfa Romeo BAT 9 Concept car did away with the prominent wing lines of the previous models in favour of a less exagerated lines. The tail fins, which in the other two models, 5 and 7, had a real wing-like look, were sized down into two flared metal plates.
Bertone transformed the highly creative styling of the two previous models into design credibility, abandoning the extremes of the other designs, and becoming closer
to an actual production model. It still featured well-designed aerodynamic lines but less pronounced so the car was easier to transform into an actual model that could go on sale to the public.
